Already Four Named Storms This Season
Hurricane and Storm Advice from SERVPRO
The hurricane season officially started about three weeks ago and already we have our fourth named storm. This is the earliest to date that a fourth storm has formed. With Alex developing back in January, we saw that the first storm came long before the “season” even started. Since then we have also seen the effects of Bonnie and Collin. It has been 11 years since a hurricane hit the Florida panhandle.
If you don’t have a storm plan prepared for your Santa Rosa Beach home or if you have one that hasn’t been updated in quite a while then now is a good time to revisit your plan and make adjustments accordingly. It is also a good idea to put together a basic storm kit to have ready. This should include water, bleach for water purification, non-perishable food items, battery-powered weather radio along with extra batteries, flashlight, first aid kit, whistle, maps, and solar-powered chargers. Have at least a five-day supply of food and water. These are just some of our suggestions that can help you in a disaster. As far as your business goes, SERVPRO of N. Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes & Washington can help you devise a plan to prepare your business for disaster and help get you back up and running quicker if a disaster strikes.
Danielle is moving towards the southwestern part of the Gulf of Mexico. Heavy rainfalls and strong rip currents in that area can be expected. Batten down the hatches and contact us if you need help after a tropical storm or hurricane. (850) 267-0746
